Job Description

Role Description The Owner is a part-time, remote role responsible for providing overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for the nonprofit. On a day-to-day basis, this role may include coordinating programs and services, managing communications with stakeholders, and overseeing fundraising and donor relations. The Owner will help develop budgets, monitor financial health, and ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations and organizational policies. This role also involves guiding volunteers or contractors, representing the organization in virtual meetings and community partnerships, and making decisions that align with the mission and long-term sustainability of the organization. Flexibility in schedule is expected to accommodate occasional evening or weekend commitments related to events, meetings, or urgent organizational needs. Qualifications - Experience in nonprofit leadership, governance, or management, with the ability to set strategic goals and oversee day-to-day operations. - Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills to coordinate programs, events, and community initiatives effectively. - Financial literacy and basic budgeting skills, including familiarity with nonprofit finances and regulatory requirements for 501(c)(3) entities. - Effective communication and relationship-building abilities, including comfort working with military families, donors, partners, and volunteers. - Proficiency with remote work tools (email, video conferencing, shared documents) and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. - Demonstrated commitment to service-oriented work; prior experience with military, veteran, or first responder communities is highly beneficial. - Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as Nonprofit Management, Business, Public Administration, or Social Sciences) or equivalent experience. - Ability to pass any required background checks and to uphold high ethical standards and confidentiality in all organizational matters.
