Job Description

Role Description The Head of Legal at مدينة السليمانيه will oversee all legal matters, providing strategic guidance on laws, regulations, and contractual obligations. This part-time, remote role includes reviewing and drafting contracts and legal documents, advising leadership on risk management, and ensuring compliance with applicable local and international legal standards. The Head of Legal will manage legal inquiries, coordinate with external counsel when needed, and develop policies and procedures that support ethical and compliant operations. The role also involves monitoring regulatory changes, training internal stakeholders on legal requirements, and contributing to long-term organizational strategy from a legal perspective. Qualifications - Strong foundation in Law, with the ability to interpret and apply relevant statutes and regulations. - Demonstrated experience in Legal Compliance, including designing and implementing compliance frameworks. - Skills in Legal Consulting, providing clear, practical advice to non-legal stakeholders. - Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and agreements. - Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex Legal Issues in a proactive and pragmatic manner. - Accredited law degree and professional legal qualification; bar admission or equivalent is highly preferred. - Experience working remotely and managing legal matters independently, with strong organizational and time-management skills. - Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic or Kurdish is an advantage. - Previous experience in a senior or lead legal role within a corporate, governmental, or nonprofit environment is beneficial. - High ethical standards, sound judgment, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
