Project Details What We Need - Assist in recruiting and assigning approximately 10 on-site volunteers - Conduct volunteer briefings and role-specific training - Manage the volunteer team on event day to ensure smooth operations - Handle volunteer-related communication and coordination Background "Sunshine Action Charity Marathon 2026" will take place in Winter 2026-2027, with an expected participation of approximately 500 runners. The event aims to raise public awareness for grassroots and underprivileged communities while fundraising for Sunshine Action's poverty-alleviation projects. What We Have As a Sunshine Action volunteer, you’ll receive comprehensive guidance and resources to ensure a rewarding experience at the Charity Marathon. We provide structured onboarding sessions and role-specific briefings. You’ll gain hands-on skills in event coordination, public outreach, and grassroots advocacy—valuable for strengthening your CV and professional development.Beyond practical training, you’ll collaborate with Sunshine Action’s dedicated teams and fellow volunteers, building a strong network while contributing to poverty-alleviation projects. This marathon is more than a sporting event—it’s a platform to raise awareness for underprivileged communities and to make a tangible impact through teamwork, compassion, and social responsibility. Why this is important The Sunshine Action Charity Marathon 2026 is a powerful platform to amplify our community impact and advance our long-term vision. By engaging approximately 500 runners and mobilizing volunteers, the event raises public awareness of grassroots and underprivileged communities while generating essential funds for poverty‑alleviation projects. This dual focus—awareness and fundraising—strengthens our operational capacity to deliver food distribution, emergency relief, and community support programmes across Hong Kong.At the same time, the marathon builds sustainable systems by enhancing event coordination, volunteer management, and public engagement. These skills and structures allow Sunshine Action to scale activities with greater efficiency and reach. Most importantly, the Charity Marathon expands our future potential by fostering stronger community partnerships, identifying emerging needs, and cultivating a network of socially conscious supporters who will carry our mission forward.
