Data Engineering Lead | Leading Bank | Hong Kong Our client, a leading bank, is looking for an experienced Data Engineering Lead to drive enterprise data platform transformation and lead a team of data engineers. This is a key leadership role responsible for building scalable data platforms, modernising legacy environments, and working closely with senior stakeholders across Technology, Risk, Finance and Compliance. Responsibilities - Lead the design and development of enterprise data platforms - Manage and mentor a team of data engineers - Build and optimise large-scale data pipelines and data architecture - Drive data transformation and modernisation initiatives - Partner with business and technology stakeholders across the bank - Support migration from legacy data environments to modern big data platforms - Implement engineering best practices, automation and governance - Contribute to the bank's long-term data strategy Requirements - 8+ years' experience in Data Engineering, Data Platforms or Big Data - Experience leading engineering teams and large transformation projects - Strong knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem technologies, Spark and Kafka - Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT, data warehousing and data pipelines - Proficiency in SQL and Python, Java or Scala - Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Cloudera or similar platforms - Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS, Azure or GCP) - Banking or financial services experience preferred - Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
