Russian speaker accountant

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based at Plekhanov University in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, requiring fluent Russian language skills. The accountant will manage day-to-day financial operations, including recording transactions, preparing journal entries, and maintaining accurate ledgers in accordance with university policies and local regulations. Responsibilities include assisting with budgeting and forecasting, preparing financial statements and management reports, and supporting internal and external audits. The role also involves reconciling accounts, monitoring expenses and revenues, processing invoices and payments, and ensuring compliance with UAE financial and tax requirements. The accountant will collaborate with academic and administrative departments, provide financial insights to support decision-making, and communicate financial information in Russian and English when needed. Qualifications - Strong core accounting skills, including general ledger management, financial reporting, budgeting, and account reconciliation. - Proficiency with accounting software and Excel, including experience with spreadsheets, pivot tables, and financial analysis tools. - Fluent Russian language skills (spoken and written), with good command of English for internal communication and documentation. - Knowledge of UAE financial regulations, tax practices, and higher-education or public-sector finance is highly beneficial. - Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines in a structured, academic environment. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team. - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA) are a plus.
