Assistant Professor in Data Science/ Analytics

Job Title: Assistant Professor in Data Science/ Analytics The Department of Information Technology at the College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT) at Ajman University invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor position in Data Science/Analytics, starting Fall 2026. The selected candidate will have primary research and teaching interests in data science/analytics. The position entails teaching at the undergraduate level and robust engagement with practice and the business community. You might also cooperate with other programs in the IT department. Qualifications & Experience - A Ph.D. in data science/ Analytics or related fields from an internationally reputable university - A distinguished research record in the field of data science, which is demonstrated by publishing in top international journals and conferences (Scopus and SCIE) - Strong assurance to distinction in teaching, curriculum development, and learning outcome assessment - Experience in teaching data science and computing courses at the undergraduate level - Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues in performing professional services. - Ability to communicate effectively in English - Excellent interpersonal skills. Essential Duties & Responsibilities - Develop and teach undergraduate courses in Data Science/ Analytics and Computer Science - Engage in innovative and technology-based approaches to learning and teaching - Publish high-quality research in leading internationally recognized journals - Participate in committees at the departmental, college, and/or university levels as assigned - Actively engage in promoting the growth of the Ajman University - Ability to provide consultancy services to researchers and the business community. - Assess and track each student's progress and give feedback to support ongoing success. - Conduct high-quality research in his/her own field and publish research outcomes in reputable journals and conferences - Ensure a respectful and culturally sensitive learning environment in all college-focused activities - Establish and maintain effective work relationships across the organization and community - Motivate and inspire confidence in others (students and colleagues) to overcome limitations to personal growth and success - Actively seek out methods, procedures, and resources to best achieve course and lesson objectives - Maintain relationships with students that are conducive to learning - Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned Knowledge & Skills - Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing - Familiarity with the “Credit Hour” academic system - Ability to supervise student work - Ability to provide academic advising for students - Ability to conduct independent research and publish in reputable journals and conferences - Ability to work effectively with diverse team members - Knowledge of academic program planning and implementation - Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) APPLICATION PROCESS A Completed Application Will Include - A letter of interest addressing qualifications for the position. - A current curriculum vitae. - A statement of teaching philosophy and research. - Copies of transcripts of all graduate coursework. - A list of three professional references with names, titles, phone numbers, and email addresses- including a current or previous supervisor.
