Release Manager

Role Description The Release Manager is a full-time, remote role responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing software releases across multiple teams and environments. This role includes managing release schedules, ensuring all components are properly integrated, and collaborating with development, QA, and operations teams to secure smooth deployments. The Release Manager will maintain release documentation, track risks and issues, and implement release policies and best practices. Daily activities include monitoring release progress, facilitating release-related meetings, resolving configuration and dependency concerns, and continuously improving release processes. The role also involves aligning release activities with broader program objectives and communicating status and impact to stakeholders. Qualifications - Strong Release Management skills, including planning, coordination, and execution of software releases. - Program Management abilities to align release activities with project timelines, priorities, and stakeholder expectations. - Configuration Management experience to control versions, environments, and deployment artifacts. - Analytical Skills to assess risks, analyze release impact, and optimize processes based on data and feedback. - Understanding of Software Development practices and life cycle to collaborate effectively with engineering teams. - Experience with tools supporting CI/CD pipelines, version control, and issue tracking (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Jira). - Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document processes and report status to technical and non-technical audiences. - Proven ability to work independently in a remote setting, prioritize multiple releases, and meet deadlines. - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - Experience in release or project management in a software or technology-focused environment is preferred.
