Job Description
About Aleph Aleph was founded by engineers who lived a problem firsthand: solving operational issues in asset-intensive industries required deep domain expertise that was scarce, impossible to scale, and locked inside the heads of a handful of experienced people. There was no product that captured this knowledge and made it available on demand. So we built one. Aleph is an AI agent platform trained on the physics, chemistry, and operational knowledge specific to each industry we serve, giving engineers and operators across chemicals, pharmaceuticals, utilities, aviation, and logistics the capability to troubleshoot faster, optimise continuously, and make better decisions without being limited by the availability of human expertise. We are seed-funded, Singapore-based, and at an early but decisive commercial stage, with customers including Pfizer, GSK, and Syngenta across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. We are scaling toward Series A and building toward a future where every engineer and operator in asset-intensive industry has an AI agent trained to their domain. This is a large, largely untouched problem. The companies that solve it will define a category. We intend to be one of them. About the role This is a high-ownership role sitting directly under the CEO. You will own the strategy and finance function at Aleph, working across three areas: business growth and strategy, financial operations and reporting, and fundraising support. You will be expected to lead these functions independently, with the CEO guiding and supporting rather than executing alongside you. This is not a role where the infrastructure is already built and you maintain it. The financial systems are basic and need improvement. The growth strategy needs to be built and executed. The Series A preparation needs to be owned operationally. You are the person who makes all of this happen. You have been exposed to most of this before and are ready to own it fully for the first time. You will grow into a senior strategy and finance leadership role as Aleph scales through Series A and beyond. Scope and responsibility 1. Business Growth and Strategy - Identify, build, and manage new GTM and sales channels end to end: from spotting the opportunity to activating the channel and driving measurable results through it - Own the land and expand motion alongside the CEO: develop and execute strategies to grow revenue from existing customers by expanding across their facilities, business units, and geographies - Develop and continuously improve Aleph's pricing model, packaging, and contract structure across customer segments; identify where Aleph is leaving money on the table and build the commercial mechanisms to close those gaps - Build and manage partnerships as a route to market: identify system integrators, distributors, and industry bodies that can multiply Aleph's commercial reach, structure the economics, and manage the relationships to drive revenue - Identify which product outcomes are driving retention and expansion among existing customers and feed those signals back into the GTM and sales motion to improve win rates and reduce churn - Own Aleph's competitive positioning: track the competitive landscape, understand how Aleph is perceived relative to alternatives, and continuously sharpen how we are priced, packaged, and positioned to improve win rates 2. Financial Operations and Reporting - Own and improve the existing financial infrastructure: budgeting, cash flow forecasting, burn tracking, and monthly financial reporting - Build and maintain financial models that accurately reflect Aleph's unit economics, growth trajectory, and funding requirements - Prepare monthly financial reports and board-ready materials for the CEO and investors - Manage relationships with external accountants and auditors; ensure financial compliance and accuracy - Identify and apply for relevant government grants and schemes (IMDA, EDB, Enterprise Singapore) to extend runway - Track and report on financial performance against plan; flag variances early and recommend corrective actions 3. Fundraising Support - Own the Series A preparation process operationally: data room build and maintenance, financial schedules, KPI dashboards, and due diligence coordination - Prepare investor-ready materials including financial models, pitch support materials, and supporting analysis for the CEO - Manage the investor update cadence: prepare monthly and quarterly updates for existing investors and warm prospects - Coordinate due diligence processes when fundraising is active: organising information, tracking requests, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks - Research and identify target investors for Series A: financial VCs, CVCs, and strategic investors aligned with Aleph's expansion plans across Asia, the Middle East, and beyond Who we are looking for We are looking for someone analytically sharp, commercially curious, and hands-on. You understand how a B2B startup grows, you can build a financial model and tell the story behind it, and you are equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves to build and run the commercial motion yourself. You do not just build frameworks and hand them to someone else. You own the outcome. You do not need to have led all of this before. You need to have been close enough to it that you know what good looks like, and hungry enough that you are ready to build it yourself. Must have: - 4 to 5 years of working experience with meaningful exposure to business growth, GTM strategy, financial modelling, or commercial operations in a B2B or enterprise technology environment - Direct experience working closely with founders or senior leadership, with a track record of owning deliverables and driving outcomes independently rather than just supporting them - Strong financial literacy: you can build, interrogate, and communicate financial models, understand unit economics, and speak credibly about business performance to investors - Hands-on commercial experience: you have built or managed a sales channel, a pricing model, or a partnership, not just analysed one - Experience preparing investor materials, financial reporting, or fundraising support materials in a startup context - Strong written and verbal communication: you can distil complex financial or strategic information into clear, compelling narratives for investors, partners, and leadership - High ownership mentality and comfort with ambiguity: you identify what needs to be done and do it without waiting to be told Good to have: - Background in or exposure to asset-intensive industries including chemicals, pharmaceuticals, utilities, aviation, or logistics - Experience supporting or managing a fundraising process from seed to Series A - Experience building or improving financial infrastructure at an early-stage startup - CFA, ACCA, or equivalent financial qualification Who this role is not for: - Someone who needs a senior finance leader above them to validate their work before it goes out - Someone who has only worked in large organisations and has never had to build something from scratch - Someone who sees strategy as purely analytical and does not want to roll up their sleeves to execute What we offer: - Direct access to and mentorship from the founding team on commercial strategy, fundraising, and financial decisions - Meaningful equity with a standard vesting schedule, reflecting genuine skin in the game as we build toward Series A and beyond - Full ownership of the strategy and finance function at a company with real customers, real revenue, and a clear path to Series A - A small, high-calibre team with no bureaucracy, no politics, and complete clarity on what matters - A clear growth path into a senior strategy and finance leadership role as Aleph scales
