8+PQE M&A Senior Counsel (Contract role, Immediately available preferred)

Our client is seeking an experienced M&A lawyer to support a high-profile transaction in China. This is a project-based engagement expected to last 3 to 6 months, working closely with internal stakeholders and PRC external counsel. The position is being hired to meet an immediate project need and there is no guarantee of conversion to a permanent role, which will remain subject to business requirements. Key Responsibilities - Advise on the full lifecycle of domestic and cross-border M&A transactions. - Support transaction execution, including structuring, due diligence, negotiation, signing and closing. - Provide practical legal advice on PRC-related and regional transactional and regulatory matters. Candidate Profile - Qualified lawyer with 10+ years' PQE gained from a reputable international or leading law firm and/or a sophisticated in-house legal function. - Candidates with PRC legal education, or PRC qualification, or PRC transactional experience are strongly preferred. - Strong experience in M&A, joint ventures, strategic investments and corporate restructurings. - Significant hands-on PRC experience with a sound understanding of the relevant legal, regulatory and commercial landscape. - Immediately available or available at short notice preferred. - Eligible to work in HK.
