Finance & Accounting Executive 📍 Location: United Arab Emirates (UAE) 🏢 Work Arrangement: Hybrid / On-site / Remote where applicable 🕒 Employment Type: Full-time 🎯 Experience Level: Senior Management / ExecutiveAbout the Role We are seeking an experienced, commercially minded, and results-oriented Finance & Accounting Executive to lead the company's finance and accounting functions in the United Arab Emirates. The successful candidate will provide financial leadership across accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, financial controls, tax compliance, audit coordination, and management reporting. Working closely with the CEO, senior management, shareholders, auditors, banks, tax advisors, and other key stakeholders, the Finance & Accounting Executive will ensure strong financial governance while providing accurate and timely financial information to support strategic and operational decision-making. The ideal candidate should combine strong technical accounting knowledge with commercial awareness, analytical capability, leadership skills, and a practical understanding of the UAE business environment.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management & Leadership - Lead and oversee the company's finance and accounting functions. - Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business objectives. - Provide financial advice and recommendations to the CEO and senior management. - Establish financial objectives, controls, reporting standards, and accountability mechanisms. - Monitor overall financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement. - Support management in evaluating business performance, profitability, and investment decisions. - Ensure effective financial governance across the organization.Accounting & Financial Reporting - Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and financial transactions. - Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of accounting records. - Manage general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and reconciliations. - Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. - Ensure financial reporting is accurate, complete, and consistent with applicable accounting standards. - Establish appropriate accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. - Review financial data and investigate significant variances or irregularities. - Maintain high standards of financial accuracy and data integrity.Budgeting & Forecasting - Lead the annual budgeting and financial planning process. - Prepare financial forecasts and rolling projections. - Develop financial models to support business planning and strategic decisions. - Monitor actual performance against budgets and forecasts. - Analyze revenue, costs, margins, profitability, and operating expenses. - Provide management with actionable recommendations based on financial analysis. - Support long-term financial planning and business-growth initiatives.Cash Flow & Treasury Management - Monitor the company's cash position and liquidity requirements. - Develop and maintain cash-flow forecasts. - Manage working capital and optimize cash utilization. - Oversee banking relationships and financial transactions. - Monitor receivables, payables, collections, and payment schedules. - Establish appropriate controls over company funds and banking activities. - Identify and manage liquidity and financial risks.Tax & Regulatory Compliance - Ensure compliance with applicable UAE tax and financial requirements. - Coordinate VAT compliance, filings, documentation, and related processes where applicable. - Support corporate tax compliance and reporting requirements where applicable. - Monitor changes in relevant tax and financial regulations. - Work with external tax advisors and specialists when required. - Ensure appropriate financial records and documentation are maintained. - Identify potential tax and financial compliance risks and recommend appropriate actions.Audit & Financial Controls - Coordinate internal and external audit activities. - Prepare required financial schedules, documentation, and supporting information. - Manage communication with external auditors and professional advisors. - Ensure audit findings are appropriately addressed and remediated. - Strengthen internal financial controls and risk-management processes. - Identify control weaknesses, financial risks, and potential areas of improvement. - Establish appropriate approval, authorization, segregation-of-duty, and reconciliation procedures.Management Reporting & Business Analysis - Prepare executive-level financial reports and management dashboards. - Provide regular analysis of revenue, costs, profitability, cash flow, working capital, and financial performance. - Develop KPIs and financial performance indicators. - Identify financial trends, risks, opportunities, and performance gaps. - Translate financial information into clear business recommendations. - Support management with financial analysis for strategic initiatives, investments, acquisitions, expansion, and major commercial decisions.Commercial & Strategic Finance - Evaluate the financial impact of new business opportunities and strategic initiatives. - Support pricing, cost optimization, profitability improvement, and resource-allocation decisions. - Conduct financial analysis for new markets, products, projects, and partnerships. - Review commercial agreements from a financial perspective. - Support due diligence, investment analysis, and business-case development where required. - Identify opportunities to improve financial efficiency and sustainable profitability.Team Leadership - Lead, manage, and develop finance and accounting personnel. - Establish clear responsibilities, objectives, KPIs, and performance standards. - Mentor finance managers, accountants, and other finance professionals. - Build a high-performing and accountable finance organization. - Promote accuracy, integrity, efficiency, and continuous improvement within the finance function. - Develop succession and professional-development plans for key finance personnel.Systems & Process Improvement - Improve finance and accounting processes, workflows, and controls. - Support implementation and optimization of ERP and financial-management systems. - Promote automation of accounting, reporting, reconciliation, and financial-control processes. - Evaluate finance technologies and tools that improve efficiency and reporting quality. - Ensure appropriate controls over financial data and systems. - Lead finance transformation and process-improvement initiatives.What We're Looking For - Strong senior-level experience in finance, accounting, financial management, or a related discipline. - Proven ability to lead finance and accounting functions. - Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting. - Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, and financial controls. - Excellent financial analysis and commercial decision-making skills. - Strong understanding of UAE tax and financial compliance requirements. - Experience managing audits, auditors, banks, tax advisors, and external professional service providers. - Strong leadership and team-management capabilities. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. - Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial executives. - Strong stakeholder-management and negotiation skills. - High level of integrity, confidentiality, accuracy, and professional judgment. - Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural, and international environment. - Excellent English communication and presentation skills. - Arabic language skills are an advantage. - UAE / GCC experience is highly desirable.Qualifications & Experience - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline. - Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CA, CMA, CIMA, or equivalent is highly desirable. - MBA, Master's degree, or relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage. - Typically 10–15+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including substantial management responsibility. - Previous experience as a Finance Director, Financial Controller, Head of Finance, Finance Manager, Accounting Manager, Financial Controller, Group Finance Manager, or equivalent senior position is preferred. - Proven experience managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, taxation, audit, and financial controls. - Experience leading finance teams and managing cross-functional stakeholders. - Experience working directly with CEOs, Boards, shareholders, investors, banks, auditors, and external advisors. - Experience with ERP and financial-management systems is highly desirable. - UAE / GCC finance and accounting experience is highly desirable. -
