Trade Finance Operations Manager – Bills & Processing

Overview Join a leading regional bank in Hong Kong as Trade Finance Operations Manager – Bills & Processing, leading a team handling end‑to‑end trade finance operations across import and export products. This role suits an experienced trade operations leader who enjoys people management, process control and driving digitization and system enhancements in a corporate banking environment. Key Responsibilities - Lead and manage the team responsible for daily trade finance operations, including import and export trade products and bills processing, ensuring efficient, high‑quality service delivery under agreed SLAs. - Develop, coach and motivate team members through on‑the‑job training and knowledge transfer to maximize productivity, accuracy and service standards. - Monitor exception cases and collaborate with business and control units to handle special or complex transactions in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements. - Keep abreast of internal and external rules, regulations and guidelines (including AML, CTF and operational risk requirements) and embed them into day‑to‑day operations and procedures. - Drive operations digitization initiatives to uplift team efficiency and effectiveness, including workflow optimization and automation of manual processes. - Participate in system enhancement projects, covering requirements gathering, user acceptance testing (UAT) and implementation support, while resolving internal and external stakeholder enquiries on trade finance operations. Requirements - Degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related discipline. - At least 10 years’ all‑rounded experience in trade finance/bills operations, with a minimum of 5 years in supervisory or managerial roles within banking trade operations. - Solid knowledge of trade finance products (e.g. L/Cs, collections, trade loans) and proven leadership experience in a trade operations function. - Knowledge of Certified Documentary Credit Specialist (CDCS) and experience in hub‑and‑spoke banking models are advantageous. - Strong leadership, problem‑solving and team/project management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional stakeholders. - Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese; proficiency in Putonghua and sound MS Office/PC skills.
