Senior IT Project Manager (Banking Systems)-Japanese Speaking

Overview A leading Japanese IT services and system integration company is seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager with a strong background in application development to join a long-term onsite project supporting a major Japanese financial institution in Singapore. Job Responsibilities This position consists of two clearly defined roles: - acting as the client-side Project Manager responsible for banking system and application development projects, (2) serving as the Team Leader for the company, leading and managing approximately 30 onsite members working locally in Singapore. The role is critical to ensuring successful project delivery, stable operations, and effective leadership of a large onsite IT organization. Role 1: Client-side Project Manager (Banking Systems) - Act as the client-side Project Manager for banking IT and application development projects in Singapore - Execute global and regional initiatives driven by headquarters and ensure successful local delivery - Manage end-to-end project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risks - Coordinate closely with business stakeholders, headquarters IT teams, and development / operations teams - Ensure compliance with banking IT standards, governance frameworks, and internal controls Role 2: Onsite Team Leader - Serve as the onsite Team Leader for a dedicated technology services team supporting a major financial institution - Lead and manage approximately 30 onsite team members, including employees, contractors, and third-party vendors - Oversee vendor management, service delivery, and governance activities - Conduct performance evaluations and support team development initiatives - Approve operational and administrative requests as required - Drive continuous improvement, operational stability, and team capability development Job Requirements - 5–10 years of professional experience as an IT Project Manager with hands-on application development experience - Strong understanding of banking systems and financial services IT - Proven experience managing application development projects using the Waterfall development model - Solid understanding of application architecture and system development lifecycle - Demonstrated leadership experience managing mid- to large-sized onsite teams - Business-level Japanese communication skills (JLPT N1 Level) (to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.) - Business-level English communication skills (spoken and written) (to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.) - Preferred Requirement Experience working with Japanese financial institutions or Japanese IT vendors Experience in onsite, client-facing project management roles - Knowledge of IT service management or IT governance frameworks JAC Recruitment Pte.
