Operator, Straightener

Role Summary: The Operator, Straightener is responsible for performing all job requirements according to the area-specific Standard Operating Procedures. This role ensures the safe operation of all equipment, maintains a safe working environment, and produces a quality product that meets all customer requirements while supporting continuous process improvement Roles and Responsibilities: - Maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions and calling for repairs as required. - Perform maintenance type tasks (Trade Assist) during planned and unplanned outages as required. - Read and understand all policies, procedures (including SOP’s), instructions, rules, regulations (including safety, environment & quality) associated with this position. - Respond appropriately and where required provide information, reports and communicate effectively. - Maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions and calling for repairs as required. - Perform maintenance type tasks (Trade Assist) during planned and unplanned outages as required. - Ensure proper product identification and traceability throughout the process. - Provide the best possible output to ensure the best possible product. - Completion of all required paperwork and / or electronic data collection. - Ensure a straightness quality of pipe per customer, API and ARMCO specifications. - Effective and efficient setup, monitoring, and operating of machine. - Perform regularly visual and dimensional inspection of straightener rolls and replace worn rolls whenever required. - nsure straightener rolls proper cooling. - Clean regularly scale pit. Qualification and Education: - High School Certificate. - Technician Certificate or higher is preferred, major in Mechanics. Experience: - High School level: minimum 3 year on the job/related function - Post High School Diploma: not mandatory but preferably in a similar industry Skills: - Intermediate English Level - Good communication and interpersonal skills. - Good Computer, standard corporate software application skills are required. - Good troubleshooting, analytical and decision-making skills.
