ELV pre sales engineer

Job Description – ELV Estimation Engineer Department: Estimation / Pre-Sales Specialization: ELV Systems Job Summary We are looking for an experienced ELV Estimation Engineer with strong knowledge of ELV systems and experience in preparing technical and commercial quotations for projects in the UAE. The candidate will be responsible for reviewing tender documents, preparing BOQs, selecting suitable products, obtaining supplier quotations, preparing cost estimates and submitting competitive technical and commercial proposals. Key Responsibilities * Review tender documents, specifications, drawings, BOQs and scope of work. * Prepare accurate technical and commercial quotations for ELV projects. * Prepare BOQs and material take-offs from drawings and specifications. * Estimate material, manpower, installation and other project-related costs. * Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors. * Select suitable products and brands according to project specifications and approved vendor lists. * Prepare technical compliance sheets and product comparison tables. * Coordinate with suppliers to obtain datasheets, technical information and updated prices. * Identify exclusions, deviations, assumptions and technical clarifications. * Prepare value engineering and alternative proposals where required. * Coordinate with the technical and project teams to ensure the proposed systems are technically feasible. * Prepare cost breakdowns and final commercial offers for management approval. * Support tender negotiations and clarification meetings. * Review client/consultant comments and revise quotations accordingly. * Maintain updated supplier price lists and costing databases. * Monitor material price increases and market changes affecting project costs. * Assist in preparing variation quotations and additional works pricing when required. ELV Systems Experience The candidate should have good estimation knowledge in one or more of the following: * CCTV Systems * Access Control * SIRA-compliant CCTV Systems * ANPR Systems * Video Intercom * Structured Cabling / ICT * SMATV / IPTV * Gate Barrier Systems * Intrusion Alarm Systems * Public Address / Audio Visual Systems * Home Automation * Building Management System (BMS) integration * Network Infrastructure * Fiber Optic Systems Requirements * Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Communications or a related field. * 3–5+ years of experience in ELV estimation, preferably in the UAE. * Strong knowledge of ELV systems, products and installation requirements. * Experience preparing quotations for residential, commercial, hospitality or government projects. * Good understanding of UAE construction practices and project requirements. * Experience with SIRA requirements and Dubai security systems is an advantage. * Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. * Ability to read and understand ELV shop drawings and specifications. * Good knowledge of BOQ preparation and quantity take-off. * Strong analytical and negotiation skills. * Good English communication and report-writing skills. * Ability to work under pressure and meet tender submission deadlines. Preferred Experience * Experience working with brands such as Hikvision, Dahua, Bosch, Axis, Milestone, Wavestore, ZKTeco, Suprema, Crestron or similar. * Experience with Dubai projects and consultant requirements. * Experience dealing directly with ELV suppliers and distributors. * Knowledge of SIRA-approved products and systems. * UAE driving license is an advantage.
