Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Sommelier role based in Singapore. The Sommelier is responsible for managing the wine program, including selection, procurement, storage, and inventory control. Day-to-day tasks include advising guests on wine choices, recommending pairings with menu items, and presenting wines in a knowledgeable and engaging manner. The role involves supporting the service team during lunch and dinner services, conducting staff training on wine and beverages, and maintaining wine lists and documentation. The Sommelier also contributes to wine sales initiatives, collaborates with the culinary team on pairings for special menus and events, and ensures all beverage service complies with company standards and local regulations. Qualifications - Strong proficiency in Wine Pairing and Sommelier practice, with the ability to curate and manage a comprehensive wine list. - Demonstrated experience in Wine Sales, with a focus on upselling, guest engagement, and revenue optimization. - Solid background in Food & Beverage operations, including fine dining service standards and coordination with kitchen and service teams. - Excellent Communication skills, with the ability to explain wine concepts clearly and interact confidently with guests and colleagues. - Formal wine education or certifications (e.g., WSET, Court of Master Sommeliers, or equivalent) are highly beneficial. - Prior experience as a Sommelier or in a similar wine-focused role in upscale or fine dining environments is preferred. - Strong attention to detail, professional demeanor, and commitment to delivering high-quality guest experiences. - Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by restaurant operations.
