Job Description

The Head of Planning – MEP leads all MEP scheduling, sequencing, and progress controls for major main contracting projects across the UAE & GCC. The role bridges heavy civil/structural/Infra works with MEP services—managing Master Baseline Programs from pre-construction procurement to site installation, Energization, Testing & Commissioning (T&C), and authority handovers. Key Responsibilities 1. Baseline & Civil/MEP Interface Integration - Develop and govern integrated Primavera P6 Master Programs aligning MEP sequences with civil handovers, slab casts, and BIM 4D models. - Schedule Builders Works Requirements (BWR) and site coordination to eliminate clashes and rework. 2. Procurement, Logistics & Heavy Plant - Track Long Lead Items (LLIs) from vendor engineering, FAT, and GCC customs to site delivery. - Schedule heavy equipment lifting, plant room access, and temporary site power/utilities. 3. Site Execution, T&C & Handovers - Create micro-programs for site rough-ins, high-level containment, riser drops, wire pulls, and device trimming. - Drive the critical sequence: Civil Handover - Energization - Integrated Systems Testing (IST) - Authority Approvals (DEWA, Civil Defence, Kahramaa). 4. Delay Analysis & Subcontractor Audit - Perform forensic delay analysis (TIA, As-Planned vs. As-Built) per SCL Protocols to substantiate Main Contractor EOT claims. - Audit and integrate MEP subcontractor schedules, challenging unrealistic productivities and logic links. 5. Progress Tracking & EVM - Track Earned Value Management (SPI/CPI) against physical site metrics (ductwork tonnage, piping line-meters, terminations). - Conduct site audits and chair weekly progress/recovery meetings with site leadership and subcontractors. Candidate Requirements - Experience: Minimum 15+ years in construction planning with a major Tier-1 Main Contractor, specializing in MEP integration. - GCC Track Record: Proven experience on major building/infrastructure projects in the UAE or GCC region. - Education: B.Sc. in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Construction Engineering. PSP or PMP credentials preferred. - Technical Skills: Expert in Primavera P6, MS Project, and Power BI. Deep knowledge of FIDIC contracts, SCL delay protocols, and GCC utility/authority regulations.
