Assistant Director (Finance and Procurement)

What The Role Is You drive the sound financial stewardship and procurement to enhance operational efficiency. You ensure effective resource allocation, strict compliance with guidelines, and the delivery of timely, high-quality financial and procurement services through team leadership. What You Will Be Working On - Oversee budget planning, utilisation, and forecasting - Provide strategic financial advice aligned with funding and procurement requirements - Lead end-to-end procurement processes, ensuring compliance with procedures and approvals while balancing operational needs with governance requirements - Evaluate contractor performance and institutionalise structured feedback mechanisms - Monitor financial and procurement activities, implementing systematic checks and resolve issues where necessary - Engage stakeholders to align requirements, funding, and procurement strategies - Serve as the key liaison with central authorities on financial and procurement policies Challenge(s) - Understanding and navigating the complexity of the MINDEF/SAF's finance ecosystem, frameworks, policies, and processes - Addressing ambiguities in financial policies and procedures in cross-functional or multi-agency environments to ensure consistent and accurate decision-making - Managing fluctuating workloads and tight deadlines during peak periods while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, and service quality What We Are Looking For - Education in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain or Logistics Management, or a related discipline is preferred - At least 6 years of relevant experience in a finance and/or procurement-related role - Knowledge of enterprise Logistics IT systems, and familiarity with policies and guidelines on finance and procurement is advantageous - Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence across levels - Strong leadership and decision-making ability - Ability to adapt to change, manage competing priorities, and drive process improvements - Meticulous with a keen eye for detail Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
