Senior Formulations Manager

The role requires a broad and robust technical understanding of product formulation development, raw materials characteristics, product entire life-cycle and shelf-life stability, regulatory requirements and trial requirements to enable the product industrialization process to succeed. This key role is for an expert in the field, with proven experience, whose activities include developing new products to help meet the Brand /Insight-led project brief, originate new product opportunities, maintain a competitive and optimized products portfolio. The role also requires experience in the blending of tobacco and working with the Procurement team to manage tobacco supply. Responsibilities: - Responsible to develop specific application concepts and new product development concepts in close cooperation with Marketing and Commercial teams - Lead a small team of technical experts - Tobacco Blending for new products and blend management for existing products - Works with Regulatory Team to ensure compliance of product portfolio - Sensory Evaluation of own and competitor products Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in the required field, managing technical teams in nicotine/tobacco related R&D and/or product development environment, showing a clear consumer-centric approach with solid foundation in Innovation Skills & Competencies: - Strong technical knowledge of tobacco, nicotine products and flavor technologies - Understands how the Product Function interacts with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations Finance, Marketing and Sales - Able to lead product opportunity space identification - Able to determine optimal product development approach based on project specific requirements - Strong understanding of product validation methods and able to select optimal method(s) based on specific project requirements Established network or experience working with Flavour Houses Specific Competencies: Tobacco Blending - Grade Survey, Grade Selection, Blend Maintenance, Supplier Footprint, Tobacco Purchase, Price Negotiation, Contracting, Shipment Planning Product Development - Develop to Brief / Deliver NPI, Flavour selection and adjustment, Blend Selection / Development, Platform Selection and Adjustment, Process Optimisation, Process Creation Consumer Product Portfolio - Create Product Briefs, Consumer Validation Objectives, Competitor Intelligence Objectives, Consumer/Business Product Opportunities, Product Portfolio, Product Pipeline Fundamental R&D - Foundational Science related to design parameters of Shisha Formulations for Shisha products and New Growth Categories, Own CORA compliance for all products, Own Laboratory and Assets, Specification and Product Life Cycle Management, Diagnostic Science for Competitor Intelligence (methods), Product Performance Test, Methodologies, Process Owner (all platforms), New Materials / Technology
