Job Description

Position: Senior Manager, Medical Affairs – Southeast Asia Reports To: VP, Strategy & Market Access Location: Singapore ABOUT AEIRA Aeira is a global pharmaceutical company focused on bringing innovative medicines to patients with unmet medical needs, and improving the global accessibility and affordability of innovative medicines. Breakthrough science no longer comes from just one place — but access hasn't kept pace. Across much of the emerging world, proven treatments remain out of reach: blocked by price, by regulatory distance, and by the absence of anyone willing to build the bridge. Aeira is that bridge. We carry breakthrough science — wherever it originates — through the commercial, regulatory and market-access work that turns a molecule into a medicine a patient can actually receive. Everything we do is guided by three principles: Continuity in healing. Connection through science. Care without borders. ROLE SUMMARY The Senior Manager, Medical Affairs leads regional medical strategy and execution for Aeira's portfolio. This role owns scientific engagement, KOL networks and evidence-generation programmes that support product adoption, appropriate use and long-term market development across SEA. This role plays a key part in shaping the regional medical presence — working closely with the VP, Strategy & Market Access and wider leadership team on KOL engagement, evidence strategy and scientific engagement, as the team and portfolio grow. HOW YOU WILL MAKE IMPACT Medical Strategy & Launch Readiness • Develop regional medical strategies aligned with product lifecycle, clinical evidence, regulatory and commercialization plans. • Partner with Commercial, Market Access and Regulatory teams to build country-specific medical launch plans and ensure scientific readiness ahead of launch. • Given Aeira's early stage and lean team, maintain working familiarity with key hospital and account dynamics that inform medical engagement planning — in support of, not in place of, the Commercial team's account ownership. KOL Engagement & Medical Education • Identify, map and build relationships with key opinion leaders, clinical experts and scientific societies across SEA. • Personally lead field-based KOL and HCP engagement across SEA markets, with the expectation of helping build and, over time, oversee a regional MSL team as the function scales. • Develop and oversee scientific education programmes, advisory boards, symposia and other non-promotional medical activities. • Establish structured mechanisms to collect, analyze and communicate insights from KOLs, HCPs and the clinical community to inform strategy. Evidence Generation & Patient Access • Identify and lead IITs, RWE, registries and other local evidence-generation programmes to address clinical and market-access evidence gaps. • Apply working knowledge of health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) principles to ensure evidence-generation plans also support reimbursement and market-access needs. • Provide medical oversight for Named Patient Programmes, early/special-access programmes and pre-launch activities — including patient eligibility, physician engagement, consent and safety coordination. Scientific Communication & Cross-Functional Leadership • Support development and review of medical/scientific materials, publications, congress activities and responses to unsolicited medical enquiries. • Work closely with Clinical, PV, QA, RA, Commercial and Market Access throughout the product lifecycle. • Ensure all medical activities comply with applicable local regulations, industry codes and internal governance requirements. WHAT YOU WILL BRING Experience • 8+ years in Medical Affairs, clinical development or medical strategy within pharmaceutical or biotech companies, including experience managing scientific engagement independently or with minimal oversight. • Medical or scientific background — MD, PharmD, PhD or equivalent preferred. • Experience with innovative medicines/biologics, ideally in specialty care, immunology, oncology or other hospital/specialist-driven products. • Strong understanding of SEA healthcare systems and clinical/KOL networks; familiarity with regulatory/HTA bodies across SEA markets (e.g., Singapore HSA, Malaysia NPRA, Thailand FDA) is a plus. • Demonstrated experience in KOL engagement, advisory boards, IITs and/or RWE. • Experience supporting NPP, early-access or pre-launch programmes is highly desirable. • Comfort contributing to medical affairs processes and structures in a lean, early-stage environment — including taking on adjacent scope beyond a typical Medical Affairs remit while the organization is still being built out. • Prior exposure to local pharmaceutical industry codes and health-authority frameworks in SEA markets (e.g., PhAMA, MOH/HSA-type guidance), given this role carries medical compliance ownership ahead of a dedicated PV/QA function being built out regionally. Skills & Capabilities • Strong scientific communication and executive presentation capabilities, with a track record of building trust with KOLs, HCPs and internal leadership quickly. • Sound judgment and comfort operating with a degree of autonomy, while working closely with leadership as the regional medical function develops. • Willingness to travel across SEA markets for KOL and HCP engagement. WHY AEIRA, WHY NOW Joining Aeira means playing a key part in shaping the region's medical affairs function from day one — working closely with the VP and the wider leadership team. • Impact from day one, not just execution. The KOL relationships you build, the evidence programmes you run, and the scientific engagement model you help shape become part of the foundation the company is built on — in close partnership with the VP and leadership team. • International, flat team — an open communication culture where you can share ideas directly with leadership, without layers of approval. • Professional growth – Direct mentorship from the VP and wider leadership team, with a clear path for career progression as the function and portfolio grow. • Cutting-edge exposure across oncology, immunology and metabolic disease — staying close to the latest innovative pipelines coming out of China. • Room to grow beyond core medical affairs — gain various emerging markets exposure to innovative drug in-licensing, overseas market commercialization analysis, and real-world deal execution — helping to shape and build a strong execution success for team members and your own network and future career.
