Job Description: Position: Safety Officer Location: Dubai, UAE Contract Duration: 1 Year About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Safety Officer to join our team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have experience in the elevator industry and a strong understanding of UAE health, safety, and environmental regulations. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment across installation, maintenance, and modernization projects. Key Responsibilities - Implement and monitor Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures. - Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments. - Ensure compliance with UAE safety regulations and company safety standards. - Monitor elevator installation, maintenance, and modernization activities to ensure safe work practices. - Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness training for employees and subcontractors. - Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports with corrective actions. - Maintain HSE documentation, records, permits, and reports. - Coordinate emergency response procedures and drills. - Identify potential hazards and implement preventive measures. - Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities on safety-related matters. - Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to site safety requirements. Requirements - Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field. - Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Safety Officer, preferably within the elevator industry. - NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, or equivalent HSE certification is preferred. - Strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and industry best practices. - Valid UAE Driving License (Mandatory). - Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. - Strong reporting, documentation, and stakeholder management skills. - Ability to work independently and manage multiple project sites. Preferred Candidate Profile - Experience with elevator installation, maintenance, testing, and commissioning projects. - Hands-on experience in conducting safety audits and inspections. - Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of enforcing safety standards effectively. - Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to train and influence teams. Immediate joiners or candidates available on short notice will be preferred.
