The Yas App is already live in Tanzania, Senegal, Comores and Togo, with Madagascar launching shortly — all ahead of this hire joining. Registration & Compliance - Own authentication, identity and universal ID flows - Own account hierarchy, including multi-MSISDN account management - Own KYC, consent and data-retention flows, ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements in every live market 4. Usage & Consumption - Own real-time data, voice and SMS usage tracking - Own zero-rating policy implementation within the app 5. Device Financing - Own telco-related hardware financing journeys within the app 6. Platform Health - Set and maintain app technical health and performance standards - Monitor app availability and stability, and escalate systemic risks to the Head of Product 7. Billing & Charging - Own telco-specific billing flows and transaction history within the app 8. Support & Self-Help - Own the AI chatbot, FAQ content and trouble-ticket management experience within the app 9. QA & UAT Coordination - Coordinate UAT preparation and execution across markets, reporting to the Head of Product - Support the Head of Product's release-readiness and go/no-go process with market-level testing status - Flag defects, dependencies and market-specific readiness gaps ahead of each release window 10. Decision Rights and Accountability The PM – Core Telco & Reliability is accountable for: - Feature ownership and roadmap execution within the Core Telco vertical - User stories, acceptance criteria and backlog quality within their scope - UAT coordination and market-level release readiness reporting The Group Head of Product remains accountable for: - Group roadmap prioritisation and BRS/API quality gate sign-off - Final release go/no-go decisions Experience & Qualification Required - Master's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline - 5+ years of experience in Product Management or Product Ownership, ideally in telecom, fintech, or a regulated digital-services environment. Strong experience in the management of an App is a key advantage. - Experience with KYC/compliance-driven product flows and multi-market regulatory requirements - Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and managing a backlog in Jira or an equivalent tool - Experience coordinating UAT and release readiness across distributed teams - Comfortable operating across distributed engineering teams and multiple markets - Fluent English communication skills Preferred - Experience in telecom or fintech super-app environments - Experience integrating a new market or business unit into an existing digital platform - Exposure to African or emerging-market digital ecosystems - French language capability is advantageous
