Head of Data Center

Our client is a prominent bank based in Hong Kong, looking for a **Head of Data Centre** to lead the strategic and operational management of the bank’s critical IT infrastructure. This includes overseeing the availability, security, and efficiency of the data centre facilities that support core banking, digital services, payment systems, and regulatory reporting functions. Key Responsibilities Lead Data Centre Operations Strategy - Provide strategic direction for all aspects of data centre operations, including physical infrastructure, IT hardware, and related facility management. - Oversee day-to-day management of the 24/7 data centre operations, ensuring continuous monitoring, incident & problem management, change control, capacity planning, and asset lifecycle management. Team Leadership & Operational Excellence - Lead and manage a team of data centre engineers, facility specialists, and shift operations staff. - Foster a culture of operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement across the data centre operations. Incident & Problem Management - Take the lead in incident response for major data centre events, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective and preventive actions. Budget & Capacity Planning - Prepare and manage the annual data centre operations budget, tracking expenses, forecasting capacity needs, and identifying cost-optimisation opportunities. Cross-functional Collaboration - Collaborate with Information Security, IT Risk & Compliance, Enterprise Architecture, and business units to ensure the infrastructure supports the bank's services securely and is scalable. Requirements - Minimum 15 years of experience in data centre, ideally within banking, financial services, or other regulated industries. - Proven experience leading data centre operations - Deep knowledge of data centre infrastructure, power & cooling systems, raised floor environments, fire suppression, and physical security controls. - Hands-on experience with enterprise IT systems, including Servers, storage, backup & DR solutions, and monitoring tools. - Fluent in Cantonese.
