Senior Accountant - Indirect Taxes

Omniyat Group is seeking a Senior Accountant – Indirect Taxes to own the Group's UAE indirect tax compliance function end to end. The role suits a Chartered Accountant with hands-on VAT experience in the UAE real estate sector who can operate independently, manage regulator and consultant relationships, and drive system-led improvements in tax reporting. Qualifications & Experience - Chartered Accountant (CA) with a minimum of 5–6 years of post-qualification experience; Big 4 experience is preferred. - Prior experience working with a real estate group in the UAE is required. - Strong working knowledge of UAE VAT law and its practical application within the real estate sector, including classification of real estate properties and point-of-taxation treatment. - Demonstrated expertise in VAT registration, VAT return filing, and VAT refund processes. - Experience managing VAT audits and routine interactions with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA). - Practical understanding of IFRS reporting and its interplay with UAE tax law. - A tax certification from a Big 4 firm is an advantage. Key Responsibilities - Manage the Group's end-to-end indirect tax compliance function, covering registrations, return filing, audits, and assessments. - Liaise with Big 4 tax consultants and relevant government authorities, including the FTA, on indirect tax matters. - Maintain and continuously improve the ERP and BI systems (Oracle or equivalent) used for tax reporting, to enable faster and more accurate output. - Lead automation initiatives within tax reporting processes. - Oversee data archival and record management in line with statutory retention requirements.
