Lab Technician

Job Description - Prepare laboratory equipment, chemicals, specimens, and materials for science practical lessons. - Set up and dismantle laboratory experiments before and after classes. - Ensure laboratories are clean, organized, and safe for staff and students. - Maintain, calibrate, and perform basic repairs on laboratory equipment. - Monitor and manage laboratory inventory, including ordering and storing supplies. - Label, store, and dispose of chemicals and hazardous materials according to safety regulations. - Conduct routine safety inspections and ensure compliance with school health and safety policies. - Prepare chemical solutions and specimens as required for practical activities. - Support science teachers during laboratory sessions and provide technical assistance when needed. - Keep accurate records of equipment maintenance, chemical usage, and inventory. - Assist in developing and updating laboratory procedures and safety documentation. - Ensure emergency equipment such as fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, and first aid kits are regularly inspected and accessible. - Support all school activities and examination activities as required. - Conduct lab practical examination as per school protocols. Qualifications Skills Description - Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Technology, Chemistry, Biology, Physics. - Previous experience in a school, college, university, or research laboratory is preferred. - Knowledge of laboratory safety standards and chemical handling procedures. - Excellent record keeping skills and computer skills. Skills - Strong organizational and time-management skills. - Excellent attention to detail. - Knowledge of laboratory equipment and scientific procedures. - Good communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teachers and students. - Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. - Commitment to maintaining a safe learning environment.
