Accountant (Temporary – 6 Months)

The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) is seeking a technically strong and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Finance team on a 6-month temporary contract. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to key finance projects, including VAT and Corporate Tax compliance, audit support, financial reporting, and finance process automation. Responsibilities - Prepare reconciliations, revenue schedules, and financial reporting workpapers - Assist with internal and external audits, including audit documentation and query management - Support VAT and Corporate Tax calculations and compliance processes - Post and reconcile payroll journals - Contribute to finance automation and RPA initiatives - Maintain finance process documentation and support continuous improvement projects Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field - 3–5 years' experience in financial accounting, audit support, and reconciliations - Working knowledge of VAT and tax compliance processes - Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting systems (Oracle experience is advantageous) - Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently within defined review frameworks - Professional accounting qualifications (ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent) are an advantage Required Skills - Strong Excel skills - Experience with accounting systems - Attention to detail - Ability to work independently Preferred Skills - Oracle experience - Professional accounting qualifications (ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent) Pay range and compensation package This is a temporary 6‑month position and does not include visa sponsorship.
