Job Description

We are seeking an experienced "Senior Finance Manager" to oversee the full lifecycle of financial management for the firm’s USD funds. This role covers financial accounting, tax compliance, audit coordination, investor disclosures, and fundraising support. You will be responsible for establishing robust internal controls, managing financial risks, and ensuring efficient and fully compliant fund operations while liaising with internal teams and external partners. Responsibilities: 1. Fund Accounting & Settlement - Oversee the full spectrum of day-to-day fund accounting for USD-denominated vehicles and their offshore entities. This encompasses maintaining the general ledger, processing and reconciling complex capital account transactions (capital calls and distributions), executing wire transfers, and managing multi-currency cash positions. 2. Tax & Regulatory Compliance - Manage all direct and indirect tax filings, regulatory registrations, and statutory compliance obligations across relevant jurisdictions. Drawing on a deep, practical understanding of cross-border tax rules and treaty implications, you will drive the implementation of effective tax planning strategies and structuring solutions. - This includes overseeing FATCA/CRS reporting, preparation of investor tax estimates and schedules, and coordinating with external tax advisors to navigate complex multi-jurisdictional requirements while mitigating the firm’s tax exposure. 3. Internal Control & Risk Management - Design, implement, and continuously enhance a robust framework of financial internal controls, capital management policies, and operational procedures. You will proactively identify, monitor, and mitigate financial and operational risks across the fund lifecycle—including counterparty exposures, liquidity management, and valuation controls. - Lead the coordination of regulatory filings, internal audit reviews, and comprehensive self-inspection programs, ensuring the firm’s operations remain fully compliant with evolving regulatory expectations and industry best practices. 4. Audit & Financial Disclosure - Act as the primary contact for all external audit engagements, including both fund-level and statutory audits. You will define the audit scope, project-manage timelines, and orchestrate the preparation of complete and accurate supporting documentation. - Provide strategic oversight in resolving technical accounting issues and drive the seamless finalization and sign-off of audited financial statements, ensuring they reflect the highest standards of transparency and technical precision. 5. LP Reporting & Communication - Lead the institutional-quality preparation and timely delivery of all financial disclosures to Limited Partners. This includes the drafting of quarterly and annual fund financial reports, detailed capital account statements, and bespoke performance analytics. - Serve as a trusted, responsive point of contact for sophisticated investor financial inquiries, translating complex fund performance data into clear, insightful narratives that reinforce investor confidence and uphold the firm’s reputation for fiduciary excellence. 6. Investment & Operations Support - Provide comprehensive, end-to-end financial support for the entire investment lifecycle, spanning fundraising, post-investment portfolio management, and strategic exits. - Responsibilities include executing capital call and distribution notices, facilitating deal funding and due diligence support, managing the financial aspects of special purpose vehicles, and calculating carried interest and distribution waterfalls. Requirements: - 6-8 years of progressive financial work experience, with at least 3 years specifically in venture capital or USD fund finance. Strong knowledge of fund taxation, risk control frameworks, and industry regulations is essential. - 2+ years of audit experience at a Big Four accounting firm is highly preferred. CPA or CTA certification is a strong advantage. Prior experience with cross-border fund finance is desirable. - Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline. - Proficient in IFRS and/or US GAAP. Demonstrated ability to independently handle full-cycle USD fund accounting, financial reporting, and audit coordination. - Fluency in both written and spoken English and Mandarin Chinese is required. Overseas study or work experience is a plus. - Exceptional communication and coordination skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset. Proven ability to efficiently manage multiple concurrent tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and integrity (Please note that due to the confidential nature of this search, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for further information regarding the company and role specifics.)
